Thanks to a re-ordered schedule, we will see more of the game’s best golfers competing in this season’s Arnold Palmer Invitational, including four of the top ten and more than thirty of the top fifty golfers. This week, we will focus more on strokes gained on approach, greens in regulation, strokes gained off the tee, birdie or better scoring, and strokes gained putting. Weather-wise, there is a chance that wind will affect scores throughout the weekend. It would not surprise us if the cutline were above par. Weather is always a factor and subject to change, so checking DFS lineups closer to lock will be crucial. In this post, we use our full set of metrics and highlight some of our favorite golfers in the competition:
Rory McIlroy ($11,100-DK; +1000 to win)
McIlroy is one of the few regulars of this event, regardless of where it appears on the schedule. Over the last seven seasons, Rory has six top-11 finishes, including a win in 2018. His worse finish in that stretch was a T27 in 2016.
Matt Fitzpatrick ($9,200-DK; +2000 to win)
Fitzpatrick is playing the best golf of his career and he also has great course history here at Bay Hill Country Club. He has finished inside the top-10 in each of the last three seasons, including a runner-up finish in 2019.
