Fantasy Baseball: Do Draft List 2022
Yesterday, we wrote about a handful of players that we would not draft at their current ADP. Today, we will go over a few players who we feel are being drafted too low:
J.D. Martinez (BOS) Current ADP: 78
People seem to be unable to look passed J.D.'s poor 2020 season, but
thse numbers can be written off as part of a rule change that did not
allow video study in the dugout. That rule was reverted back to the
norm in 2021 and Martinez finished the season as a top 20 fantasy
outfielder. We would happily take Martinez inside the top 50 overall.
Anthony Rendon (LAA) Current ADP: 61
Rendon battled injuries in 2021 and now everyone seems to have
written him off. Not us. Throughout his career, Rendon has provided
fantasy owners with excellent power and batting average numbers.
At 31 years old, we may not see the same Rendon from before the
injuries, but he is still a top 50 overall player on our draft boards.
Adam Wainwright (STL) Current ADP: 150
Last season, Wainwright finished the season as a top 10 fantasy SP.
Now, he is being drafted well outside the top 100 players overall.
Most notably, after a few down years, Wainwright adjusted his
approach on the mound in 2020, working more off-speed pitches into
his arsenal. Nobody expects him to finish 2021 as a top 10 SP, but his
current rank outside the top 50 SP is simply way too low. There will
be no hesitation scooping up Wainwright in our fantasy drafts.
