Fantasy Baseball Weekly Notes (September 6-September 11)

Fantasy Baseball playoffs are quickly approaching, and in some leagues already starting! Here are a few players that I will be targeting on the waiver wire this week who are currently available in most leagues and some other notes that I find useful:

- The St. Louis Cardinals have one of the easiest schedules for the remainder of the season and are expected to get Jack Flaherty (SP, 70% owned) from the IL on Monday against the Washington Nationals. He is a must-add and should start again on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

- The Colorado Rockies play all 6 of their games this week at home, at Coors Field, and 2 of those games against LHP. We will target all of their regular starters, but especially Randal Grichuk (OF, 48% owned), who excels against left-handed pitching.

- If you're desperate for pitching help, and Flaherty is not available, we like the Los Angeles Angel's Michael Lorenzen (SP, 10% owned), who is expected to rejoin the team from the IL on Friday against the Astros. Again, we cannot emphasize enough how this is a desperation play and all decisions should be reserved until closer to that scheduled start.

- In what looks like a move of desperation, the New York Yankees have called up top prospect Oswald Peraza (SS, 8%). Although Peraza is a middle infielder by trade, he is expected to see major league time as an outfielder this season. It is hard to ignore Peraza on this potent offense as a flyer in deeper leagues.
