AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am 2022

The PGA Tour’s next event is one of the more unique events on the Tour calendar, with amateur players participating alongside the pros. This aspect has kept some of the top names away from the event, possibly not wanting to play longer rounds or because of some more financially lucrative events overseas.

Again this week, we will see the Tour playing on multiple courses. Each course plays a bit differently, with the Monterey Peninsula Country Club looking to be the easiest, and we have adjusted our model accordingly. This week, we will focus more on strokes gained on approach, greens in regulation, strokes gained off the tee, and strokes gained putting. The weather is expected to be warm, with little wind and no real issues to be concerned about. Weather is always a factor and subject to change, so checking DFS lineups closer to lock will be crucial. In this post, we use our full set of metrics and highlight some of our favorite golfers in the competitihon:

Daniel Berger ($10,500-DK; +900 to win)

Our picks start with the defending champion of this event. We are giving a little extra weight to course history this week, with golfers who play this event often typically doing the best in it. Berger has been excellent on approach and enters the week in great form. Berger is our top cash play.

Jordan Spieth ($10,300-DK; +1600 to win)

Spieth is another golfer with excellent course history in this event. He has also proven to be elite around the greens and with his short game. Unlike Berger, Spieth does struggle on approach, but we will happily send him out in our GPP builds.

Matthew NeSmith ($8,800-DK; +25000 to win)

NeSmith has shown to be an underrated golfer on approach, grading very well in our model on approach. His putting has always been an issue, but last week he did very well on similar surfaced greens. In two previous entries into the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, NeSmith has finished top-16 in both.
