Welcome back to another edition of our Fantasy Baseball Weekly Edge Report, where we break down everything you need to know for the upcoming week of season-long fantasy baseball.

With the trade deadline soon behind us, fantasy managers enter one of the most important stretches of the season. New roles have emerged across the league, prospects are earning everyday opportunities, and several contenders look significantly different than they did just a few days ago. Staying active on the waiver wire and maximizing favorable schedules can make all the difference as the fantasy playoff race heats up.

🗺️ Schedule Breakdown

One of the easiest ways to create an advantage in weekly leagues is by simply getting more plate appearances. This week, only eight teams will benefit from a full seven-game schedule, giving their hitters additional opportunities to contribute across every category.

👉 Remember: Those extra games matter. Even one additional game can represent roughly a 17% increase in opportunities compared to teams playing only six games.

August weather should continue favoring hitters around much of the country. Warm temperatures remain the norm across many MLB cities, allowing the ball to carry well and creating favorable run-scoring environments. When deciding between similarly ranked hitters, the weather once again provides a slight edge to offense this week.

Scattered thunderstorms remain the biggest concern throughout the Midwest and East Coast, particularly during evening games. While most contests should be played without issue, fantasy managers should continue monitoring forecasts as lineups lock, especially when relying on fringe starting pitchers or streaming options. West Coast games are once again expected to provide the most stable playing conditions.

🔥Top Stacks to Target

Here are a few teams that are in favorable spots for the upcoming week:

⚾ Phillies (vs WSH, vs TOR)

Philadelphia gets a full seven-game homestand and draws two beatable pitching staffs. Their lineup continues to produce from top to bottom, and with plenty of run-producing opportunities expected, the Phillies profile as one of the safest stacks of the week.

⚾ Cubs (vs LAD, vs TOR, @ KC)

The Cubs are one of our favorite stacks of the week. Seven games will provide plenty of volume, and if the wind cooperates, Wrigley can quickly become one of baseball's best offensive environments.

⚾ Red Sox (vs CWS, vs ATH)

Boston remains one of the hottest offenses in baseball and now returns home for six straight games. The matchup against the White Sox offers immediate upside before finishing the week against the Athletics. With favorable matchups on their side, the Red Sox once again project as one of the week's premier fantasy stacks.

🎯Waiver Wire Targets

We always want to be aggressive on the waiver wire. Here are a few players/situations that we are keeping a close eye on:

⚾ Ty France, 33% owned, has not had a straight-line path to success, but he has been mashing in his age-32 season. Since winning an everyday role, France has been an excellent source of both power and run production.

⚾Steven Kwan, 58% owned, has been one of the hottest hitters in baseball over the past few weeks. His elite contact skills, ability to score runs, return to the top of the Guardians lineup, and recent surge at the plate make him a strong addition for managers looking for consistent production during the fantasy playoff push.

⚾ Christian Scott, 20% owned, has quickly established himself as a fantasy-relevant arm thanks to his ability to miss bats and limit hard contact. Scott's strikeout upside gives him value in virtually any matchup, and if he continues to pitch deep into games, he has the potential to provide quality starts and wins down the stretch. If he's still available in your league, he's worth adding before his roster percentage climbs.

⚾ Zac Thornton, 35% owned, is another young Mets SP that has proven he is here to stay. He's flashed the ability to generate strikeouts, and if he continues earning regular turns in the rotation, his fantasy value could rise quickly over the final two months of the season. Thornton is our favorite upside stash in deeper leagues.
