As we flip the calendar to July, fantasy baseball managers are entering one of the most important stretches of the season. Injuries are beginning to pile up, trade rumors are heating up, and standings are starting to separate across every format. Whether you're fighting for a playoff spot or looking to strengthen an already dominant roster, maximizing weekly schedules and identifying emerging talent can provide a major edge.

This week features several favorable hitting environments, a handful of teams with strong volume advantages, and another opportunity to stay aggressive on the waiver wire before the All-Star break approaches. Let's dive into the schedule, weather outlook, top offensive targets, and waiver-wire pickups for the week ahead.

Volume remains king in season-long fantasy baseball, and this week several clubs receive a significant boost from favorable schedules.

Nine teams are slated to play seven games this week. These teams give you max volume. That may not sound significant, but it represents roughly a 17% increase in opportunity.

🌦️Weather Notes

Summer weather is finally beginning to settle in across much of the league, creating more favorable hitting conditions than fantasy managers have seen throughout much of April and May. Warmer temperatures across the Midwest and Northeast should help boost offensive production, particularly in parks that traditionally play larger during cooler months.

As always, Wrigley Field remains one of the most important weather parks to monitor. Wind direction can dramatically alter scoring expectations on a daily basis, turning an average matchup into either a pitcher-friendly environment or one of the top offensive spots on the slate. Managers streaming pitchers should pay close attention to forecasts before lineups lock.

The most consistent run-scoring environments continue to be found in Colorado, Arizona, and several of the league's retractable-roof stadiums where weather concerns are minimized. While widespread rainouts don't currently appear likely, scattered summer storms could create occasional delays throughout the eastern half of the country, making it worth monitoring forecasts later in the week.

🔥Top Stacks to Target

⚾ Marlins (@ COL, @ ATH)

• MIA play 7 road games this week, but they all come at two of the best hitters' parks in baseball.

• Edwards, Lopez, Marsee, and Stowers should all benefit from the schedule this week.

👉 DFS Edge: With seven games in great run-production environments, the Marlins will provide plenty of one-off savings this week.

⚾ Rockies (vs MIA, vs SF)

• Streaming Rockies hitters is never a comfortable long-term strategy, but Coors Field remains undefeated for fantasy purposes. COL plays 7 games at home this week.

• Goodman, Castro, Rumfield, and Moniak all benefit from one of the most favorable run-production environments.

👉 DFS Edge: Hitters at Coors are always popular DFS plays. Still, COL will provide plenty of one-off savings this week.

⚾ Athletics (vs LAD, vs MIA)

• Only 6 games for ATH this week, but they all come at hitter-friendly Sutter Health Park.

• While the Dodgers present a difficult matchup, the series against Miami offers a strong opportunity for Oakland's young power bats to produce counting stats.

• Kurtz, Soderstrom, Langeliers, and Wilson should all benefit from the schedule this week.

👉 DFS Edge: ATH should be an interesting, low-owned GPP stack early in the week against LAD before they really get interesting for cash games against MIA.

⚾ Sneaky Stack: Pirates (@ PHI, @ WSH)

• While the matchup against PHI isn't ideal, PIT's offense has shown signs of life recently and remains widely available in fantasy leagues compared to more popular stacks.

• Reynolds, Gonzalez, Horwitz, and Lowe all project as strong starts.

👉 DFS Edge: Managers looking for an under-the-radar source of runs and RBI should consider Pirates hitters as a sneaky weekly play.

🎯Waiver Wire Targets

We always want to be aggressive on the waiver wire. Here are a few players/situations that we are keeping a close eye on:

⚾ Francisco Alvarez, 45% owned, has now made this blog for the third straight week. We promise it's not laziness. At the time this is being written, Alvarez has 3 homeruns over his last 7 games. If healthy, Alvarez, is an excellent source of power and a top ten catcher for the rest of the season.

⚾ Lars Nootbaar, 25% owned, continues to provide value in multiple categories, combining above-average power with strong on-base skills at the top of the Cardinals lineup.

⚾ Cam Smith, 11% owned, remains one of the more intriguing upside adds available on many waiver wires. The Astros outfielder continues to receive regular playing time, and his combination of emerging power and speed gives him the potential to contribute across multiple categories as the season progresses.

⚾ Peter Lambert, 55% owned, has quietly become one of the better pitching values available on waiver wires, posting a 3.28 ERA and 1.17 WHIP through nearly 70 innings with Houston. After struggling for years in Colorado, Lambert appears to have found another gear with the Astros and has delivered multiple quality starts throughout June.
