Fantasy Baseball Weekly Notes (July 4 - July 10)

Updated: Jul 6, 2022

After a long holiday weekend, we are a bit late this week. Hopefully, your lineups were set for the 11:05 ET start time on Monday. Either way, we have a long week ahead and plenty of mobes to make. Here are a few players that I will be targeting on the waiver wire and who are currently available in most leagues:

- The Cincinnati Reds and Detroit Tigers are both scheduled to play eight games this week. While neither team provides overly exciting fantasy options, we will be looking to these teams to provide volume. Cincinnati's Brandon Drury (1B/3B/OF, 88% owned) and Kyle Farmer (SS, 45% owned) are both excellent at home, hitting .315 and .284 respectively. Tyler Naquin (OF, 93% owned) is expected to return from the IL and will also help cover your OF spots.

- New York Mets SP Max Scherzer (SP, 99% owned) was expected to return from the IL last week but he is now scheduled to start on Tuesday as a heavy favorite against the Cincinnati Reds. There is no reason not to start him.

- Boston Red Sox prospect Brayan Bello (SP, 33% owned) is expected to make his major league debut on Wednesday. Bello is talented with a solid pitch mix and should be considered in all league formats.
