Fantasy baseball Week 12 starts Monday at 7:05 pm ET. Here are a few players that I will be targeting on the waiver wire and who are currently available in most leagues:
- Most noticeably, the Toronto Blue Jays are scheduled to face three (maybe four) left-handed starting pitchers this week. All of the big names will be in your lineup anyway, but we are interested in adding Santiago Espinal (2B/3B, 45% owned) and Gabriel Moreno (C, 20% owned) who have excellent splits and should provide value in deeper leagues.
- Another team that will benefit from matchups against LHP are the Colorado Rockies, who are scheduled to face four, all at home. Connor Joe (C, 50% owned) and Brendan Rodgers (C, 50% owned) both smash lefties and are well worth starts this week.
- Boston Red Sox prospect Jarren Duran (OF, 21% owned), is being ignored after a poor call-up last season, but he has shown an ability to hit and steal bases so far this season. Duran is worth an add in deeper leagues.
- Two high-profile starting pitchers could be activated this week in Brandon Woodruff and Max Scherzer. If you own either, monitor their situations closely.
