Welcome back to this week's Fantasy Baseball Weekly Edge Report! With the holiday weekend, we're keeping things a bit shorter than usual. We'll be back to our full report next week—enjoy the games, and good luck this week!

🗺️ Schedule Breakdown

Twelve teams are slated to play seven or more games this week. Most notably, we have a very rare eight-game week for the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals, who will play a doubleheader on Tuesday, July 7. These teams will always the first place to look for streaming hitters in season-long fantasy.

👉 Remember: These teams give you max volume. That may not sound significant, but it represents roughly a 17% increase in opportunity.

📈 Teams with 7+ Games

  • Arizona Diamondbacks

  • Atlanta Braves

  • Colorado Rockies

  • Kansas City Royals

  • Milwaukee Brewers (8 games)

  • New York Mets

  • New York Yankees

  • Philadelphia Phillies

  • San Diego Padres

  • San Francisco Giants

  • St. Louis Cardinals (8 games)

  • Tampa Bay Rays

🌦️Weather Notes

July weather is creating some of the best offensive conditions we've seen all season. Hot temperatures across much of the country should help the ball carry, with many parks in the Midwest and Northeast expected to play more hitter-friendly than they did during the cooler months of spring.

Wrigley Field remains the premier weather park to monitor each day. Wind direction can completely change the outlook for both hitters and pitchers, making it one of the most important forecast checks before setting lineups. A strong breeze blowing out can create a stack-worthy environment, while winds blowing in can quickly suppress offense.

Coors Field continues to offer elite run-scoring potential regardless of the forecast, while Arizona and other retractable-roof stadiums provide stable playing conditions throughout the week. Although widespread postponements aren't expected, typical summer thunderstorms could produce a handful of delays in the East and Southeast, so keep an eye on updated forecasts as first pitch approaches.

🔥Top Stacks to Target

 Brewers (@ STL, @ PIT)

 Cardinals (vs MIL, vs ATL)

 Dodgers (vs COL, vs ARI)

🎯Waiver Wire Targets

We always want to be aggressive on the waiver wire. Here are a few players/situations that we are keeping a close eye on:

⚾ Francisco Alvarez, 45% owned, has now held a spot on our blog for a month straight. Catcher isn't the most sought after position, but Alvarez remains an excellent source of power and we would argue that he is a top ten catcher for the rest of the season. There is no reason he isn't owned in more leagues.

⚾ Bryce Eldridge, 75% owned, is more owned than the players we typically write about here, but with a solid K-rate, his power upside, and upcoming matchups against TOR + COL, he should probably be even higher owned for this week.

⚾ Anthony Volpe, 25% owned, has been heavily criticized over the last few seasons, but he is actually playing fairly well lately while hitting in the middle of the Yankees lineup. This season, we have seen Volpe take a lot more pitches and swing more for contact than power. Combined with his stolen base production, there is real fantasy value here in deeper leagues.

⚾ Troy Melton, 70% owned, seems to have made a mechanical adjustment that has increased his velocity, which in theory could help his ability to miss bats. We are looking to add Melton wherever he is available.

🧠 Final Thoughts

That's it for this week's abbreviated Edge Report. We'll be back next week with our full breakdown as the season continues to heat up. Good luck this week, and thanks for reading!

👉 Remember: Focus on volume, target strong offensive environments, and don't be afraid to move quickly on emerging players before the rest of your league catches up.
