NFL DFS: Week 3

Updated: Jan 14, 2022

Each week, we will break down the DFS main slate for the weekend on both Draft Kings and FanDuel. Let’s get right to it:

Quarterback:

Lamar Jackson (DK-$7,800; FD-$8,400) – Lamar ranks third in the NFL in rushing yards behind only two RBs. Because of how this offense uses him, Lamar is one of the safest cash game options on the slate.

Daniel Jones (DK-$5,800; FD-$7,400) – Through 2 weeks, Jones ranks as QB8 based on DK scoring. He ranks third in the NFL in rushing from the QB position behind only Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts. Jones did a great job of protecting the football last week and we will look to him in our cash builds.

Runningback:

Chris Carson (DK-$6,400: FD-$7,700) – There is reason for concern with all of the top RBs this week, which draws us back to Carson in a great matchup vs a struggling MIN defense. Carson is a much better play on DK at these prices, but he is certainly viable on FD.

Najee Harris (DK-$6,300; FD-$6,100) – Harris remains a great cash game play in his workhorse role for the Steelers. In a week w/ a lot of uncertainty at the RB position, we won’t hesitate to lock in the rook.

Wide Receiver:

Cooper Kupp (DK-$6,800; FD-$7,900) – Kupp has been on fire to start the season. We mentioned last week that he deserves to be priced over $7k on both sites. As such, this DK price is very easy to jump on.

Mike Williams (DK-$6,400; FD-$6,000) – Williams has always been a talented WR and he is finally receiving proper credit and opportunity. Williams has the fourth most targets in the league through two weeks.

Courtland Sutton (DK-$6,000; FD-$6,900) – With Jerry Jeudy out, Sutton became the top target in Denver. He is way too cheap for that kind of upside.

Tight End:

Darren Waller (DK-$7,400; FD-$7,400) – If you can afford Kelce, go for it. But if you want a little bit of savings, Waller is the next safest guy at the position. His price even dropped on DK this week!

TJ Hockenson (DK-$5,200; FD-$6,300) – Hock has entered the territory of one of the elite pass-catching TEs in the league, but his price has not yet caught up him. We love the value here, especially in cash.

Defense/Special Teams:

Denver Broncos (DK-$4,300 ; FD-$4,200) – If you have the budget to pay up for a defense, the Broncos are top priced for good reason. Coming into the season, this defense was expected to be very good and now they have an excellent matchup against a rookie QB who turned the ball over often last week.

Buffalo Bills (DK-$3,800; FD-$4,200) – Coming off a shutout win, the Bills have only allowed 16 points so far this season. This week, they have a great matchup against a backup QB in Washington’s Heineke.
