NFL Power Rankings: Pre-Season 2021

Updated: Jan 14, 2022

The NFL season is approaching, and a lot has changed since we last ranked the teams back in February. Today, we will take the draft, free agency, and all other roster moves into consideration as we release one last list of power rankings before the start of the pre-season. Here’s how we see the teams stacking up:

1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tom Brady and the Bucs have done enough to retain this spot. Their roster is largely coming back intact and Tom’s influence on his teammates only increases after a full offseason without pandemic restrictions.

2. Kansas City Chiefs.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are 26-6 in the regular season record over the last two seasons. As long as he can stay healthy, Mahomes will have this team near the top and competing for another ring.

3. Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo fell one win short of making their first Super Bowl Appearance since 1993. They will begin this season with one of the best QB-WR duos in the league and an elite defense.

4. Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams are in win-now mode and they are many people’s pick to win the Super Bowl with their new quarterback, Matthew Stafford.

5. Green Bay Packers.

Does Aaron Rodgers come back? If not, we would rank this team much lower.

6. Baltimore Ravens.

Lamar Jackson needs to start feeling some pressure. This team needs to win more than one playoff game to be considered successful. There are worse problems to have.

7. Seattle Seahawks.

Russ is still one of the best quarterbacks in this league. This division will be fun to watch this season.

8. Indianapolis Colts.

Frank Reich and Carson Wentz are reunited in what looks like a great trade for the Colts. Last season, under Phillip Rivers, this team reached the playoffs. In such a weak division, it would be hard to expect any less from them.

9. San Francisco 49ers.

The biggest thing holding the 49ers back last season was injuries. Since joining the team, Jimmy Garoppolo is 22-8 as the starting quarterback. If Trey Lance can live up to the hype, Shanahan may be able to get this team over the hump.

10. Pittsburgh Steelers.

This could be Big Ben’s final season in Pittsburgh, even with his newfound commitment to his health.

11. Tennessee Titans.

12. Cleveland Browns.

13. Miami Dolphins.

14. New Orleans Saints.

15. Los Angeles Chargers.

16. Las Vegas Raiders

17. Arizona Cardinals.

18. Minnesota Vikings.

19. Chicago Bears.

20. Atlanta Falcons.

21. Dallas Cowboys.

22. New York Giants.

23. New England Patriots.

24. Washington Football Team.

25. Philadelphia Eagles.

26. Carolina Panthers.

27. Cincinnati Bengals.

28. Denver Broncos.

29. Jacksonville Jaguars.

30. New York Jets.

31. Detroit Lions.

32. Houston Texans.
